Wallenius Wilhelmsen has inked substantial contracts with a global construction and mining equipment manufacturer and one of the largest automotive distributors in the Americas. The three-year shipping contract with the equipment manufacturer, valued at approximately USD 1 billion, comes with a two-year extension option and commenced in November 2023.
Additionally, Wallenius Wilhelmsen recently entered a multi-year shipping contract with the automotive distributor, valued at around USD 200 million over a two-year period. The contract, effective from early 2024, reflects present market rates.
Both agreements support Wallenius Wilhelmsen’s decarbonization initiatives, incorporating the use of biofuel, technical and operational enhancements to the existing fleet, and the exploration of new technologies. Pia Synnerman, Chief Customer Officer at Wallenius Wilhelmsen, emphasized that these contracts reinforce partnerships, offering predictability for both customers and the company in the high and heavy and automotive segments.
