Netherlands-based Magna Tyres, an international OTR tire manufacturer, has introduced its proprietary Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). This latest addition to Magna’s services aims to cater to the growing needs of its global customer base.
Hein De Wind, Commercial Director at Magna Tyres, emphasized the company’s commitment to go beyond traditional tire production. The TPMS system, meticulously crafted in-house, aligns with this objective, offering real-time monitoring of tire pressure and temperature, along with alerts for moderate and extreme readings.
Magna TPMS facilitates swift responses to field situations by identifying issues early on, providing prompt solutions, and sending automatic action emails to the relevant personnel within an organization. The system is accessible through a Desktop version and a mobile App (IOS/Android), offering GPS location tracking for monitoring distance traveled and hours used, contributing to comprehensive tire usage statistics.
Key features include specialized Valve Sensors continuously measuring crucial parameters such as Pressure, Heat, Speed, and Distance. The Magna Gateway serves as the central hub, collecting and transmitting real-time data gathered by sensors through the CAN-bus.
The TPMS system enables fleet managers to monitor an entire fleet globally, reducing downtime, improving efficiency, overseeing maintenance, and promptly addressing potential issues. By saving time on pressure checks and meeting legal requirements, Magna TPMS enhances overall fleet performance and ensures compliance.
Hein De Wind concluded that the introduction of Magna TPMS represents the company’s commitment to enabling customers to monitor tire performance, leading to increased mileage performance and improved Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
