Liebherr, with over 60 years of experience in concrete batching plants, recently introduced its latest generation. A mobile version of this new generation is now in operation at a+b Asphalt- und Betonmischwerke GmbH & Co. KG in Bad Schussenried, Germany.

This new Betomix and Mobilmix batching plant series is highly modular, offering customers more configuration options, shorter lead times, faster assembly, and readily available parts.

a+b Asphalt- und Betonmischwerke, a prominent medium-sized company in the production and distribution of construction materials, has adopted the Mobilmix 3.0 concrete batching plant from Liebherr’s new system. This plant, located in Bad Waldsee, southern Germany, boasts an impressive output of up to 130 m³ per hour with the Liebherr DW 3.0 twin-shaft mixer and ample storage capacity for up to 210 m³ of aggregates and 400 tonnes of various binders.

The new plant prioritizes energy and cost efficiency, consuming up to 30% less energy than previous versions. The use of frequency converters in the mixer and feeder elevator drives reduces wear and tear on mechanical parts, lowers energy demand, and allows for speed adjustments during the mixing process.

One of the plant’s most significant advantages is its lower CO2 footprint, achieved through precise cement metering, saving up to 7.5 kg of cement per cubic meter of concrete. This translates to substantial annual savings of 375 tonnes of cement and up to 220 tonnes of CO2 emissions, equivalent to the efforts of planting tens of thousands of trees.

The new batching plant generation relies on a modular design, allowing for independent module production and efficient on-site assembly. These modules are transport-friendly, eliminating the need for special transports and reducing costs.

Comfort and convenience are at the forefront of the design, with generous space for maintenance, easy access, and innovative features such as a chain hoist for material handling and a high-pressure cleaner for efficient cleaning. Additionally, the plant’s enclosure ensures smooth winter operation and minimizes noise emissions, making it an excellent choice for locations near residential areas.
