Nordic Crane, a lifting company in the Nordic region, has enhanced its heavy lifting capacity by adding the Enerpac JS-250 Jack-up system to its expanding Heavy Lift Division. This innovative system is designed to handle loads up to 1,300 tons and will find applications in infrastructure, tunnel, and oil and gas projects across the region.
The Nordic Crane JS-250 Jack-up system has already demonstrated its capabilities on the MossIA project in Norway, a 10 km double-track railroad project in Moss. Here, it efficiently and safely elevated a 130-ton concrete form by 5 meters during tunnel construction.
Established in 2022, Nordic Crane’s Heavy Lift Division, under the leadership of Paul Karlsen, is actively growing its presence in the heavy lift market in Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. Paul Karlsen, the Chief Operating Officer at Nordic Crane, expressed his enthusiasm for the Enerpac JS-250 system, stating, “The MossIA tunnel project showcases the impressive jacking capability we now have at our disposal. We are particularly impressed by its compact design and stability at 10 meters. Furthermore, it can easily transform from a jack-up to a conventional hoisting system by adding header beams and strand jacks, enabling us to tackle a broader range of heavy lifting projects.”
The Enerpac JS-Series Jack-up system is a versatile, multi-point lifting solution with four jack-up towers, each strategically positioned under a load’s corners. Each jack-up tower’s lifting frame incorporates four hydraulic cylinders that raise and stack steel barrels. The load is lifted incrementally as barrels are automatically inserted and stacked to form the lifting towers. These towers operate simultaneously under the guidance of a single operator, with the jack-up system’s synchronous technology ensuring load balance.
