In collaboration with Techint Group, one of Argentina’s prominent construction firms, the Argentinian lifting gear company, ORTIZ FISCHER, has achieved a successful feat in Neuquén, Argentina, employing a Modulift Spreader Beam to hoist a substantial 40-inch gas pipeline.
This significant project is a vital component of Argentina’s most extensive infrastructure investment venture, the President Néstor Kirchner Gas Pipeline (GPNK) project. The objective is to significantly augment the transport capacity of the primary oil and gas reservoir. Within this ambitious 600-kilometer gas pipeline endeavor, Modulift has once again demonstrated its position as the preeminent manufacturer and supplier of below-the-hook lifting equipment.
Utilizing the MOD 70H Spreader Beam, with a remarkable weight-bearing capacity of up to 100 tonnes, Techint Group executed the safe lifting and placement of the 40-inch cement-lined pipe sections. The beam, configured at a length of 12 meters, comprising three individual struts, drop links, and end units, facilitated the precise positioning. The MOD 70H offers a span of up to 8.5 meters (28 feet) or up to 14 meters (45 feet) at a lower capacity. Ortiz Fischer, one of Modulift’s global distributors, procured the Spreader Beam. Based in Argentina, Ortiz Fischer maintains an inventory of various Modulift spreader beams, encompassing the MOD12, MOD24, MOD34, MOD50, and MOD70 models. This comprehensive product range ensures a seamless fit for lifting capacities spanning from 12 to 70 tonnes, available for immediate collection or next-day delivery directly to the job site.
Santiago P. Ortiz, General Manager of Ortiz Fischer, expressed, “Modulift’s unwavering commitment to stringent manufacturing and quality standards assures our customers of a Spreader Beam with DNV Type Approval, accessible through next-day delivery. We take pride in our association with a globally esteemed supplier of below-the-hook lifting equipment.”
Sarah Spivey, Managing Director of Modulift, noted, “Thanks to our global distributors, such as Ortiz Fischer, we can promptly deliver Spreader Beams to South America. This not only saves time but also reduces costs for our customers. Shipping from our UK headquarters would entail longer lead times and higher transportation expenses. With DNV Type Approval for Spreader Beams up to 2000 tonnes, customers can now enjoy swift delivery, eliminating the need for additional proof load testing.”
