Wolffkran has supplied its largest Wolff 1250 B luffing crane on hire to the construction company Multiplex to work on the new Chancery Rosewood Hotel at 30 Grosvenor Square in Mayfair, Central London W1. The project is a redevelopment of the Grade II listed former US Embassy building. The new hotel will retain the historic façade of the original building overlooking Grosvenor Square whilst integrating a hotel, retail, spa and event space.
The WOLFF 1250 B crane has been installed standing on top of a new concrete core, working with a 50 m jib and short 10 m tower. The crane has a lift capacity of 28.0 te at 50 m in 2 fall working. The Wolff 1250 B crane was specified by Multiplex as the solution to lift in heavy beams. Thanks to the crane’s modular components designed for easy and speedy assembly, the crane was erected over one weekend, keeping disruption and inconvenience in this prestigious Central London location to a minimum.
