Latvian crane manufacturer JSC RIKON has completed a contract for MIP (Track Solution Group) in France, supplying a critical travel mechanism as part of its ongoing role as a specialist industrial partner to European crane builders.
Operating under the motto “We build cranes,” RIKON is known not only for producing complete cranes under its own brand, but also for supporting other manufacturers with the design and fabrication of complex, high-value components and structural assemblies. The recent project for MIP highlights this dual focus, combining full-cycle engineering with precision manufacturing of a core crane subsystem.
The delivered travel mechanism was developed and produced as a fully integrated solution, covering both design and fabrication. According to the company, this type of project reflects its long-term strategy of working in partnership with other crane builders, contributing essential systems that form the backbone of heavy lifting equipment.
RIKON’s expertise centers on large, precision-engineered components such as travel bogies, complete travel mechanisms, boom sections, portal legs, major welded structures and custom-built sub-assemblies. These elements are critical to crane performance, durability and safety, particularly in demanding industrial and port environments.

Production is supported by RIKON’s industrial base in Riga, which covers a total site area of 35,000 square metres. More than 10,500 square metres are dedicated to production, assembly, painting and testing, enabling a complete manufacturing cycle starting from metal plate cutting. The facility’s location at the Freeport of Riga, including access to a private quay, provides a logistical advantage by allowing large components to be manufactured, tested and loaded directly onto vessels for shipment.
