Kaleris, a global supply chain optimization technology provider, has acquired Locus Software, a UK-based operations management system for ocean carriers. The strategic acquisition enhances Kaleris’ capabilities by integrating Locus’ advanced cloud platform into its Execution and Visibility Platform, creating a unified solution for end-to-end cargo operations.
With over 18 years of expertise, Locus Software brings its Odyssey platform—a cloud-based carrier system designed for ease of use, rapid integration, and 24/7 accessibility—to the Kaleris ecosystem. The combined platform will now streamline workflows from quoting and booking through stowage planning and cargo operations, offering a single source of truth across commercial, operational, asset, and financial management.
“The addition of Locus Software’s capabilities to our stowage planning and vessel reporting solution unlocks a new level of value for carriers,” said Kirk Knauff, CEO of Kaleris. “Customers will benefit from real-time visibility and operational efficiency across a connected cargo ecosystem.”
The acquisition also extends the reach of Locus’ Odyssey platform to over 560 terminals already using Kaleris’ technology. By integrating with Kaleris’ Stowman DS solution, users gain an enhanced ability to coordinate cargo flows and avoid breakdowns in communication between shippers, carriers, and terminals.
John Squire, CEO of Locus Software, emphasized the ease and speed of integration. “Our technology delivers collaboration without the burden of high integration costs. As part of Kaleris, more carriers will gain a unified view across their operations and stakeholders.”
