Subsea7 has been awarded a super-major contract by Petrobras for the development of the Búzios 11 field, following a competitive tender process. The offshore project is located approximately 180 kilometres off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in the pre-salt Santos Basin, at a water depth of 2,000 metres.

The scope of the contract includes the engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, and pre-commissioning of 112 kilometres of rigid risers and flowlines. This project further strengthens Subsea7’s role in Brazil’s offshore oil and gas development.

Engineering and project management activities will begin immediately, led by Subsea7 teams based in Rio de Janeiro, Suresnes (France), and Sutton (UK). Fabrication will be carried out at Subsea7’s spoolbase facility in Brazil. Offshore installation operations are planned for 2027 and 2028.

Yann Cottart, Senior Vice-President Brazil and Global Projects Centre West at Subsea7, commented:
“This award again underscores Subsea7’s proven expertise in delivering complex, world-scale size projects, reinforcing our strong execution capabilities and commitment to operational excellence and safety.

“With a solid backlog and a diverse portfolio, we continue to drive value for our shareholders while further contributing to Brazil’s development. We thank Petrobras for their trust and look forward to once again playing a significant role in the success of the Búzios field.”
