Eidesvik Offshore has announced the construction of a new Construction Support Vessel (CSV) for subsea and offshore renewables operations. Built in partnership with Agalas and Reach Subsea, the vessel will enhance operational efficiency and meet growing market demand.
Similar in design to Eidesvik’s ongoing project at Turkey’s Sefine Shipyard, the new CSV is scheduled for delivery in spring 2027. It will be equipped for inspection, maintenance, and repair (IMR) tasks and will enter a five-year time charter with Reach Subsea, with options for two one-year extensions. Eidesvik will manage the vessel, including crewing.
The ownership structure will see two-thirds held by an entity controlled by Eidesvik and Agalas, while Reach Subsea will own the remaining third. This collaboration strengthens the companies’ existing partnerships in the subsea sector.
Designed by NSK Ship Design, the 99.9-meter vessel will feature a hybrid battery system and dual-fuel gensets capable of running on methanol or marine gas oil (MGO). It will also include a 150-metric tonne heave-compensated crane, a 900-square-meter deck, and an advanced remotely operated vehicle (ROV) launch and recovery system (LARS), preparing it for deep-water seabed survey operations.
“Eidesvik is delivering on our growth strategy with another fleet expansion,” said CEO Helga Cotgrove. Reach Subsea’s CEO Jostein Alendal highlighted the vessel’s advanced technology and reliability, while Agalas CEO Mats Nygaard Johnsen called it a key milestone in the subsea market.
