Fecamp substation jacket has entered Port of Cherbourg

The jacket that will support the electrical substation of the Fécamp offshore wind farm has just entered the Port of Cherbourg. This jacket is 60 m high and weighs 1,200 T. It was towed on the Stralsund barge which itself is 90 m long and 32 m wide.

Installed at the Quai des Mielles for about 1 month, it will be subject to various inspections and checks, before being transferred and placed at sea off Fécamp.

Port of Cherbourg has been chosen because of its proximity to Fécamp, the ease of its nautical access (wide and without restriction) which makes it possible to receive this type of convoy and above all to free the barge at any time.
