The population’s need for data exchange and communication is constantly growing. To meet these needs, a national plan for the implementation of a fibre optic network has been put into place and by 2022, the entire French territory should have access to very high-speed broadband. Responding to the exploding telecom market and increasing need for adapted equipment, France Elévateur has opened since May 2020 an assembly line to produce 12 vans in series. This new production line allows to manufacture 2 vehicles per day upscaling to 3 units per day from October.

The most suitable solution to support the telecom market is the 121 FT aerial work platform van mounted on a 3.5 van with 120kg unrestricted capacity and up to 5m outreach. The machines are designed, assembled, adjusted and fine-turned at their French factory in Flavigny-sur-Moselle. Following the implementation of this new production line, the French vehicle mounted lift manufacturer hired 8 new colleagues and plans to continue with 13 additional people in the 3rd quarter of 2020.

Charles Goffin, Director France Elévateur commented: “We are positioned in a premium market with a strong relationship of trust with our customers. The market is robust, driven by telecom and fibre as a whole. Therefore, we encounter a strong pressure on lead times and unfortunately, up till today, we were unable to fulfil that need.”

“To compensate for this, we have opened a new assembly line during the confinement for the 12m vans intended for the telecom industry. This new line allows us to increase the production capacity by 20 additional vehicles per month. As from the start of the autumn, the teams will be working in 2 shifts to shorten the delivery times. This telecom and fibre market enables us to approach the coming months with optimism.”

“For other markets, innovation is at the heart of our approach, a large number of new products are being studied and will be released soon.”
